MDRx Enterprise had passed all legalities to exist as a business; legalized by the law of the land; and compliant to all the basic requirements to distribute medical devices that are essential tools in providing quality life among Filipinos. As its business name implies, MDRx (Medical Device Revolutionary exponents) serves revolutionary (meaning innovative and new) medical devices that are products of research, needed to uplift the wellbeing of the Filipinos through their use in restoring and improving human sight. MDRx Enterprise’s major principal is Beaver-Visitec International (BVI) USA, and Lamur Instrument (a local importer) for all segments, and Alcon Laboratories, Topcon, Quantel Medical, and Appasamy Associates for government accounts as they appoint us.
MDRx Enterprise is a business engaged in health device importation and distribution with its intention of improving and providing healthy eye sight. MDRx serves the consumable microsurgical products used in cataract, vitreoretinal, refractive and oculoplastic surgery. These are highly specialized products where the efficiency is only realized by the surgeons who use it. MDRx is serving currently the premium market that necessitates quality performance and technological products to deliver reliable results towards preserving healthy eye sight.
MDRx was established November 12, 2009, registered under the Department of Trade and Industry as a single proprietorship. MDRx’s industry credibility, legality and authenticity as a company is evidenced and documented in its regulatory licenses from both local and national government bodies. MDRx is formally appointed by Beaver Visitec International, Ltd (BVI) as the exclusive Philippine distributor.
At the later part of 2013, MDRx has gained a new product to serve the reusable device segment thru Lamur Instruments, which are hand crafted reusable high-grade metal surgical instruments made from India that have created an image of reliability for over 15 years. This brand demand is identified and facilitated by consultants from St. Luke’s Medical Center and Philippine General Hospital.
Together with this, MDRx gained the approval of partnering with known ophthalmology brands such as Alcon Laboratories, Topcon, and Quantel Medical for government installations. This allowed it to serve a new segment of ophthalmic diagnostic and corrective equipment. From 2013 until this year, MDRx was able to install almost 50 equipment in several government hospitals.
Recently Appasamy Associates, through its local representative, has approved MDRx in serving government accounts with cost-friendly but dependable intraocular lenses (IOLs) and various sterile solutions. Sourced from India, these items have allowed MDRx to serve almost the entire range of ophthalmic medical devices.
MDRx Enterprise is a registered business name under the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) of the Philippine since November 2009 compliant to the Philippine laws, classified as importer and wholesaler. MDRx is duly registered as a medical device importer-wholesaler under the Food and Drug Authority (FDA) Center for Device Regulation, Radiation Health, and Research (CDRRHR). MDRx is also registered with the Bureau of Customs (BOC). These ensure the legality of business activities involving importation and distribution of medical devices, particularly Beaver-Visitec ophthalmic products.
MDRx Enterprise was named as such for several reasons. MD signifies affinity for medical use while Rx is written like the symbol for medical prescriptions. R revolutionary means innovative and new; the small x intends to abbreviate the word Exchange and Exponents. MDRx has a high recall to its future customers aiming to be the portal of medical products through distribution and marketing of known brands used for uplifting health and wellness.
Richard S. Andres serves as the founder and Managing Director for MDRx Enterprise. He has 26 years of experience in Business Development, Sales, Clinical Marketing, Relationship Marketing, Distribution Management, and Product Management. In his management of several product markets for Becton-Dickinson (BD) Philippines, he was able to bring tremendous business growth of an average of 280-350%. He was awarded numerous national, regional, and international recognitions from BD such as the Winner’s Circle Award, Sales Achievement Award, and the Business Excellence Award. He undertook graduate studies in Strategic Marketing Management at the De La Salle University and Public Administration at Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU).
Herminio Santos, RN serves as the Marketing Director for MDRx. He has 29 years of clinical expertise, along with 24 years of experience in Clinical Marketing, Business Development, Product Management, Sales, Communications and Program Management, and Product Introduction and Launching. He pioneered several innovations in both the healthcare market and in business management at BD Philippines, which garnered him multiple recognitions such as Sales Achievement and Top Performer awards.
Sam Onofre B. Francisco is the Operations/ Technical Manager of MDRx. He has 30 years of experience in Website Development, Search Engine Optimization, Content Management Systems, and Digital Marketing. He also has 10 years of experience in Project Development and Monitoring and 7 years of experience in Mobile Marketing. He undertook graduate studies in Economics at St. Louis University, Public Administration at MMSU, and Development Planning with Computer Applications at the Institute of Social Studies, Netherlands.
Maria Luisa Maghari serves as the Administrative and Internal Auditor for MDRx. She has 22 years of experience in Finance, Accounting, Auditing, Treasury, and Administrative Work. She holds a degree of Master’s in Business Administration from the University of Santo Tomas, Manila. She is also a graduate of Human Resources Management at the San Beda College and Accountancy at the University of Negros Occidental-Recoletos.
Ryan Joseph C. Tuzon, RPh serves as the Regulatory/Quality Assurance Specialist of MDRx. He was part of several organization and student council projects along with being a consistent top student in his undergraduate years at the University of the Philippines (UP) Manila. He was given the Recognition for Academic Excellence in the Biological Sciences by the Phi Sigma Society – Alpha Chi Chapter and both the Service Award and the Award of Distinction by his college upon his graduation. He graduated magna cum laude and subsequently became Top 1 in the March 2018 Pharmacy Licensure Exam.
